This large mug is made using an iron-rich stoneware clay: the iron within the clay creates random speckles giving the mug texture and visual interest. The unglazed area of the mug has a rough texture which I love but is not for everyone. The glaze used here is a very pretty pale blue. I dip the mugs in glaze so that the finished glaze line is slightly different on each mug.
