Half-glazed green coffee mug
At approximately 9 cm in height, these espresso mugs, with their unglazed bellied form, sit beautifully in the palm of the hand. Glazed inside in a dark green, glossy, colour the mugs are perfect for morning or after-dinner coffee.
They are only glazed a few centimetres below the rim on their outsides but with plenty of room for where lips meet the pot. The unglazed body is the colour of toast giving the mugs a warm appearance and its texture gives the hands plenty to contemplate.
Each mug weighs about 250 gms. The handles have been extruded with ridges giving the pots a delicate appearance. The dark green glaze I’ve used on these coffee mugs is a wonderful contrast to the warmth of the unglazed iron-rich clay.
